Spring 2024 Update

After what seems like an endless winter, BePoRa are back!
We were delighted to work with Jill from Wilder Hampshire to improve the Milton Road Planter, 27th April 2024. Volunteers cleared out an invasive colony of three cornered leek and supported the local wild life with native species. The event was captured beautifully by Urban Sketcher Elwyn Edwards.
The community garden, The Polygon Orchard, has had several meet ups, clearing back the weeds and tending to the many plants that survived the winter. We look forward to more flowering and encouraging new volunteers to enjoy the garden.
We are very excited to be awarded a fund for maintaining our website, domain name, newsletters, flyer and plants from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Our many thanks for go Southampton City Council for the help in this.
We are currently in talks with SCC to have an input I to the new Devonshire Pocket Park and the ongoing exciting works at the Polygon Playground, off Rollesbrook Greenway. We hope to report soon on plans for the great student move out, and host another in-person meeting! Our online meetings have been made available to everyone on the mailing list but we would love to see some friendly faces!
